Megan Howden is a consultant allergist and respiratory physician who is experienced in managing all aspects of allergic disease including allergic rhinitis (hay fever), urticaria (hives), food allergy, insect allergy, drug allergy and asthma.

She sees adults and adolescents 16 years or older in the practice.

Megan completed a science degree at the University of Melbourne before undertaking her post-graduate medical degree at Flinders University in Adelaide. She returned to Melbourne in 2005 to work and train as a junior doctor at Austin Heath. Here she was given first hand exposure to respiratory medicine which later became her specialty as she completed her specialist respiratory training at The Alfred Hospital and Austin Health. She subsequently continued her training in allergy at The Alfred Hospital. She now holds public hospital appointments at both the Alfred and Northern Hospitals in the areas of allergy, asthma and respiratory medicine. She is experienced in the treatment of severe asthma, working in the severe asthma clinic at Northern Health.

Megan is a current fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), a member of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA), the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) and the European Respiratory Society (ERS).
